Calmfit is built around Durga's belief that strength training works for everyone when it is designed around the person, not a template.

Over the last ten years, she has had great success with three types of people. Those who have always hated the gym and never found a way to make training stick. Those who are managing a chronic condition or injury and need something more intelligent than a standard programme. And those who simply want to get stronger, play a sport better, or feel better in their body.

Things people ask before they start.

Why is this priced so high compared to a regular gym or trainer?
Durga is a physiotherapist with ten years of clinical practice, not a gym trainer. That background shapes how every session is run. Before anything else, we spend time understanding your history, how you move, how you sit, what your day looks like. Sessions are 1:1 and adjusted as you go. We know it is a significant investment, and we don't take that lightly. We just find that when training is built around a person rather than a programme, the results tend to stick.
Can I do this online? I don't live in Chennai.
Yes, many of our clients train online. Live sessions happen over video call, and workout plans, nutrition guidance, and WhatsApp check-ins work the same way. We have clients across India and a few internationally.
Do I need to buy a lot of equipment?
No. We start with just resistance bands and bodyweight, which is more than enough in the beginning. Weights come in later, and even then, one pair of dumbbells is genuinely all you need. We are not going to send you a shopping list.
I have always found the gym boring or intimidating. Is this still for me?
Honestly, that is more common than you might think. A lot of what makes strength training feel that way is the environment and the approach, not the training itself. 1:1 sessions are very different from a gym floor. We move at your pace, explain what we are doing and why, and adjust constantly. Some of our longest-standing clients started out feeling exactly the same way.
